Everything, plainly answered
Is every piece really handmade and one of one?
Yes. Every Penah lamp is built and finished by hand in our Istanbul atelier, so small variations in fabric, tone and placement are natural — a sign of authenticity rather than a flaw. Each piece is signed and numbered, with a certificate of authenticity.
What is the production / delivery time?
Catalogue pieces are typically ready in about 7 working days. Bespoke and project orders depend on scope — we share a clear timeline with your quote.
Is a bulb included?
No — the bulb is not included. Our pieces use an E27 socket (220–240V). We recommend a warm-toned (≈2700K) LED for the intended glow.
Can I order just the shade, or just the body?
Yes. Shade and body can be purchased separately — useful when you want to refresh an existing lamp or pair a shade with your own base.
Can colours, fabric or size be customised?
Almost everything is made to order — shade colour, fabric, fringe and proportions can be adapted to your project. Share your space and palette and we will propose options.
Why are there no prices on the site?
Each piece is handmade and many are adapted per project, so we prepare a quote for your exact configuration. Use “Request a Quote” on any piece, or write to us.
Do you work with interior architects and the trade?
Yes — this is at the heart of what we do. We partner with interior architects and designers on project lighting: bespoke pieces, fabric and palette consultancy, and editions for hospitality and residential projects. See Design Partnership for how we collaborate.
Do you ship outside Istanbul / internationally?
Yes. We ship within Turkey and abroad; pieces are packed to protect the shade and fringe. Tell us the destination and we will arrange the best method and share costs.
How do I care for my lamp?
Dust gently with a soft, dry brush or a cool hairdryer on low. Keep fabric shades away from moisture and direct heat, and handle fringe by lifting rather than pulling.
Can I visit the atelier?
We welcome visits by appointment at our Erenköy, Kadıköy atelier in Istanbul. Write to us to arrange a time.
